About Debt Payoff Map

Debt Payoff Map is a small, independent website with free calculators for people paying off debt. It is run by the site owner. It is not a bank, lender, broker, credit counselor or financial advisor, and it is not affiliated with any of them.

Why it exists

Many debt payoff calculators show a single method, hide the schedule, or push you toward a product. This one is meant to answer one question honestly: given your debts and the money you can pay, what happens under the snowball and the avalanche, and what does each choice cost? You get the order, the dates, the interest and the full schedule, and you can download it.

What we do and do not do

• The calculations run in your browser. We do not receive your debts or balances.
• We do not ask for your name, email or account details.
• We do not recommend lenders or products, and we do not take referral fees for doing so.
• We publish how the numbers are worked out on the methodology page, and the calculation code is covered by automated tests.

How the site is paid for

The site is free to use. It may show advertising, which is how hosting and upkeep are covered. Ads are placed by an advertising network and are not endorsements. Ads never change a calculation. See the privacy policy for how ads and cookies work.

Who is behind it

You can reach the author through the contact page. If you spot a mistake in a calculation, please say so: corrections are welcome and are checked against the test suite.

Keeping it accurate

Pages show a "last reviewed" date. Calculators are re-checked when they change, and the content is re-read at least once a year. This is general information, not financial advice: read the disclaimer.
